Since forming in 2000, Soul Contention has become one of Melbourne’s leading event bands.

 

Unrivalled in quality and integrity, these ten musicians are passionate and uncompromising in their pursuit of the sound and style of classic soul music. They have performed for major events such as the Southbank New Year’s Eve celebration and the annual Twilight Rhythms in the Fitzroy Gardens, and have entertained major corporate companies at Melbourne's most prestigious venues. Their energy, reliability and fantastic sound sustained a seven year residency at ‘Manchester Lane’ in Melbourne’s CBD.

 

Featuring a dynamic three piece horn section, tight rhythm section and three amazing vocalists, the famous sounds of Atlantic, Mowtown and Stax once again burst to life, elevating Soul Contention into a class of its own.
